In a stunning reincarnation led by English designer Thomas Heatherwick, this former Victorian coal store has been given a new lease of life as an upscale shopping complex. Today, the 19th-century coal sheds are home to more than 50 shops, bars and restaurants, including French cult label APC and British menswear brand Paul Smith – all mere minutes from King’s Cross station.
