Xita Lao Tai Tai
The famed Shenyang favourite opens its first outpost in Singapore with sizzling results

Located in the buzzing Bugis+ mall, the brand’s first Southeast Asian outpost is a sizzling hotspot for flame-kissed, charcoal-grilled meats – all marinated with authentic house recipes crafted by its Shenyang-based founder. The magic lies in the restaurant’s custom clay stove, which not only burns hotter than conventional stoves, but also imbues the grills with a distinctive smoky character. Even before the meat hits the fire, diners are treated to free-flow side dishes like kimchi and pumpkin porridge. But the star of the show is beef, with 20 different cuts to choose from. The Xita fatty beef short plate, marinated with apples, is a melt-in-the-mouth standout, as is the unique and flavoursome pineapple glazed beef rib finger. Cold buckwheat noodles, inspired by Korea’s naengmyeon, is a refreshing palate cleanser for the rich meats, while desserts like the Strawberry Ice Burst provide a cool and satisfying finale. You’ll find plenty of beverage options to quench your thirst with, from Korean yuzu tea to towers of beer or even Moutai baijiu.
