Beneath Rome’s surface lies a mysterious underworld: over 600km of catacombs, carved out as early Christian burial sites. Of the 60 known catacombs, just a few – like San Callisto, San Sebastiano and Domitilla – are open to the public. Guided tours offer a glimpse into the ancient soul of the Eternal City.
