After surviving multiple demolition attempts, one of Madrid’s last adult cinemas was revived as a bar and event space in the city’s lively Lavapiés neighbourhood.
Old movies screen silently in the central bar space, where madrileños meet up for wine, beer, spritzes and a menu of familiar favourites (tortillas, croquettes and more). There’s also a 55-seat cinema plus a range of cultural programming, from poetry recitals to music performances.
