With staff sporting uniforms by Houston fashion designer David Peck, interiors by Dallas-based design firm Duncan Miller Ullmann and a large exterior mural titled “Waves of Wonder”  – which features life-giving sources such as water and ylem, the substance from which the universe is said to have been formed – by Indian-born artist Janavi M Folmsbee, Hotel Ylem is a hip 79-room, family-owned boutique hotel near NRG Stadium and the Texas Medical Center.
