The Back Room

If you fancy something a bit more covert, head to The Back Room, an atmospheric speakeasy in Manhattan’s Lower East Side with a giant fireplace, glittering chandeliers and a mirrored bar. In fact, it is one of only two existing speakeasies that operated during Prohibition. Here, you’ll get to sip cocktails in teacups and beer in paper bags – a throwback to the clandestine drinking practices of the era.
