If you’re up in the air and in the mood for something cosy, these TV picks are perfect for warming you up from the inside out. From life-affirming dramedies to fan-favourite sitcoms, here are five shows that bring all the comfort to your seat — no blanket required.
Ted Lasso
At its heart, Ted Lasso is about how relentless optimism can shape lives for the better. Jason Sudeikis stars as the endlessly positive American football coach who is hired to manage a struggling UK football (or, as the Americans call it, soccer) club despite knowing next to nothing about the sport. What could have been a fish-out-of-water comedy evolves into something much deeper: a show about kindness, vulnerability, and leading with heart. Even though he’s going through a failing marriage, Ted has an unwavering belief in people that uplifts and transforms them. With sharp writing, lovable characters, and a whole lot of soul, Ted Lasso is a feel-good watch that will restore your faith in humanity.
Camp Snoopy
Camp Snoopy brings the Peanuts gang to the great outdoors! Snoopy and the Beagle Scouts try to save their troop from being dissolved, while Charlie Brown and friends spend the summer at Camp Spring Lake. Packed with campfire stories, canoe trips, and plenty of chaos, this miniseries blends old-school charm with summer-holiday exuberance. But it’s not just frivolous fun — there’s heart here, too, with stories about crushes, homesickness, and growing up. Ultimately, Camp Snoopy celebrates friendship, teamwork, and finding joy in the little moments — it’s less a boot camp and more a pleasant get-together.
Shrinking
From the producers of Ted Lasso, Shrinking stars Jason Segel as Jimmy, a therapist who’s lost his wife, is tired of his job, and decides he’s done following the rules. He starts telling his clients exactly what is on his mind — to unexpectedly positive results. With Harrison Ford in one of his most brilliantly quiet roles as Paul, who’s part mentor to Jimmy and part reluctant grandfather figure to Jimmy’s daughter, Shrinking dives deep into the psychiatric profession and the intricacies of human relationships. It’s messy, tender, and unexpectedly uplifting — a story about life falling apart and the strange, beautiful ways we piece it back together again with the support of those who love us.
Breeze by the Sea
Set against the idyllic backdrop of Kinmen Island, the Taiwanese drama Breeze by the Sea stars popular Singapore actors like Fann Wong and Hong Huifang. When a scandal forces superstar Bai Yin Mo (Chen Bo-lin) into hiding — at the insistence of his agent — he retreats to a seaside guesthouse run by the no-nonsense Li Hai Nuo (Puff Kuo). What begins as a clash of personalities gently unfolds into a tender story about learning to accept a more grounded kind of love — one where neither party loses their identity. In the calm of the guesthouse, they become each other’s light. This drama is a gentle reminder that sometimes, slowing down is the only way forward.
Young Sheldon
Before Sheldon Cooper became the brilliant (and slightly unbearable) physicist we know from The Big Bang Theory, he was a precocious child growing up in small-town Texas. Young Sheldon is a light-hearted, surprisingly sweet sitcom about a brilliant boy (the young Sheldon Cooper played by Iain Armitage) who doesn’t quite fit in — with his family, at school, or pretty much anywhere. Through its heart and humour, the series gives us a softer look at one of TV’s most iconic characters and delivers a steady stream of feel-good moments along the way.
